Welcome to actlikeus.com (the “Site”), the official home of Act Like Us. Think Like Them. by Daniel Freeman. The Site is operated by [Legal Business Name] (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Site and any purchase you make through it. By using the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who may use the Site

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to make a purchase. If you are younger, you may use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. The Site is intended for visitors in the United States; if you access it from elsewhere, you are responsible for following your local laws.

2. Your account

You may check out as a guest or create an account. If you create one, keep your login details confidential and tell us promptly at actlikeusbook@gmail.com if you believe someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Products and pricing

We sell Act Like Us. Think Like Them. in two formats: hardcover and audiobook. The ebook edition is available on Amazon. We work to describe each format and price accurately, but errors can happen. Prices are shown in US dollars and may change at any time without notice. Prices do not include sales tax or shipping, which are calculated at checkout.

If a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information, we may cancel any orders placed for it. If your payment was already taken, we will refund it in full.

4. Orders and payment

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we send you an order confirmation email. We may decline or cancel an order for reasons including suspected fraud, an error in the listing, or unavailability of stock.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. By placing an order, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method you provide.

5. Shipping (hardcover)

We will email you when your hardcover order ships. Delivery times after shipping depend on the carrier and destination and are estimates, not guarantees. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the order is handed to the carrier. If your book arrives damaged or does not arrive, contact actlikeusbook@gmail.com within 14 days of the expected delivery date and we will make it right.

6. Digital and audio products

The audiobook is delivered electronically through BookFunnel, usually right after payment. When you buy a digital or audio edition, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, read, or listen to it for your own non-commercial use. You do not buy the copyright.

You may not copy (beyond personal backups), share, resell, upload, distribute, or remove any copyright notice or protection from a digital or audio file. Breaking these rules ends your license and may lead to legal action.

7. Returns and refunds

Hardcover: You may return an unused hardcover in its original condition within [Return Window] days of delivery for a refund of the purchase price. Email actlikeusbook@gmail.com first for return instructions. Return shipping is your cost unless the book arrived damaged or we sent the wrong item.

Digital and audio: Because these files are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, all sales are final once the file has been downloaded or streamed. If a file is faulty or you cannot access it, contact us and we will fix the problem or refund you.

Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days.

8. Intellectual property

The book, its title, cover art, logo, text, audio, images, and all other content on the Site are owned by Daniel Freeman or [Legal Business Name], or used with permission, and are protected by US and international copyright and trademark laws. You may share short quotes with credit for review, commentary, or educational purposes. Any other use requires our written permission. Press and permissions requests go to actlikeusbook@gmail.com.

9. Reviews and messages you send us

If you post a product review or send us a message, you confirm it is your own, truthful, and lawful. You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and use your review on the Site and in promotion of the book, with or without your name. We may remove any review or content at our discretion, including anything that is abusive, hateful, off-topic, or spam.

10. Acceptable use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • break any law or anyone else’s rights;
  • try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its systems, or other users’ accounts;
  • upload viruses or harmful code, or disrupt the Site’s operation;
  • scrape, harvest, or copy content from the Site by automated means;
  • place fraudulent orders or use someone else’s payment details; or
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your connection to anyone.

The Site uses third-party services, such as our payment processor, delivery provider, and shipping carriers, and may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.

12. Disclaimers

The book shares the author’s perspective, research, and personal experience. It is for educational and informational purposes and is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions.

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or our products. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

14. Indemnity

15. Governing law and disputes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version takes effect when posted, and the Effective Date above will change. Orders placed before a change are governed by the Terms in place when you ordered.

17. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site.
